2025-26 Offseason Training
November training will be focused on building the right technique for strength training, speed training, throwing and hitting. We would like our athletes to understand their movements and what they can do to enhance their abilities this winter. And an introduction to the mental fitness training that will begin in full in December.
November expectations are that players who are not playing in the HFL Qualifier the second week of November would begin training on Sunday, November 2.
Players in another in-season sport or activity such as basketball or theater should make that sport their first priority and get to the training they can when it doesn’t conflict. Those who are not playing another activity should attend at least one hitting/lifting session, our speed training and our throwing instruction each week.
December to February expectations are that players who are not playing another sport/activity would come to hitting/lifting training on Sunday and then either Wednesday or Thursday. They would also attend the fielding training on Monday or Thursday. Lastly, they would attend the Saturday team training.
U of M Training - Beginning in December we will rent time at the U of M and we will define 6 of our 9 teams to attend this special and valuable training each week. The other three will have a team practice scheduled that weekend during the day. At the U of M we do a lot for our outfielders, team strategy and do live scrimmaging. Times will vary in December but we tend to get start times around 5pm in Jan-Feb.
Sunday Training - Please prioritize this day. This is our most important training day of the week, so we set it on a Sunday in hopes we have less conflicts. Athletes will get 1 hour of hitting training, 30 minutes of strength training with Coach Kelly and 30 minutes of mental fitness training lead by Jeremy Gavin. We will be using the Elite Competitor program and additional coaches will be involved in the mental fitness training as we work to integrate it into our week.
Throwing Training - We can make a big impact in your individual game and our team performance by improving our throwing accuracy and speed. Please attend our sessions in November to understand the technique. We will be following the High Level Throwing program. We will then integrate 15 minutes of throwing during our fielding training on Mondays and Thursdays.
Games - In addition to our live scrimmages at the U of M, we will work to ensure teams have games where they can compete and use the skills they are working on. Some of our younger teams will play some Sunday night games in Maple Grove in Nov and Dec. Some will play winter tournaments and we will setup some matchups with competitive teams at the U of M in February.
Pitchers! You bring an extremely important skill to our teams and we want to support you making huge gains this winter! In addition to you doing individual training with your pitching coach, we want to see you at our Pitching Labs. We’ll be able to support 32 pitchers per week with our labs on Wed nights and Saturday mornings, so each pitcher should be able to attend once and some could take spots to go twice. We will be in contact with a schedule. We will also be doing some mental fitness specific to pitching - probably once per month. This will be in-person and virtual. Lastly, if you need space to throw we will have space on Mondays and Fridays and also Sat and Sunday evenings if you choose. Feel free to bring your instructor.
Catchers! We will have training provided by Tien Ly in the month of November on Saturdays for those not playing HFL qualifier. Please come learn. December - February we offer catching training from Coach Nikki on Monday nights. This is an energetic fun hour+ of lots of reps with all the catchers in our program. We will additionally provide references for individual catching instruction and may work with Coach Tien to offer additional training for those who cannot make Mondays.
Reservations - You will RSVP on Gamechanger OR a new platform called Playbook. We will communicate instructions on how to RSVP. There will be a max number of participants for most of the training and ask that you respect that.
